St George's Grenada, Half Day Tour


Grenada's capital, St. George's has one of the most beautiful  horseshoe shaped harbours in the Caribbean.  The town is nestled into a hillside  dotted with pink fishscale  tiled roof buildings. The remains of an old volcano crater.


On this excursion:


    First Travelgrenada's representative will welcome you on arrival from the cruise ship or hotel.


Our first stop Market Square famous for executions, buying and selling of slaves and political rallies. (see map) Now a bustling vegetable market.


Next is Fort George built in 1706. Photo opportunity for some for panoramic seascapes looking down on a wonderful view of St. George's Town and Carenage.


    Then on to Richmond Hill for some spectacular seascapes. and mountain vistas of the north and south of the island. Here we will visit Fort Frederick and Fort Matthew. Nicknamed the "back-to-front" forts.


We then move on to the most famous of beaches - Grand Anse beach

Known for its tranquil aquamarine blue waters and two miles of powder puff white sand. Situated on the western, leeward side of the island, sheltered from high waves, strong currents and winds ideal for swimming.


Refreshments and souvenirs can be bought at Grand Anse Vendors Market.



Then back to cruise ship or hotel.


Restrooms are available at the vendors market and restaurant.

The excursion will involve walking up some steep hills.
